Why Aren't You Adding Muscles? Here are 3 Reasons!

Working to your bones but still haven't achieve the results that you wanted? Then keep reading this article and learn about 3 possible reasons why you are not gaining muscles. Here's everything that you need to know:

Lack of Variety w/ Exercise

One of the key factors in muscle building is adding variety to your exercise routine. If you've noticed, when you started working out, you'll feel sore the following day. Well, that's partly because you are not used to executing those exercises and your body is still adapting to it. But muscle adapts quickly and in no time it will get bored if you keep repeating your usual routine. So, the best thing is to add new exercise routines from time to time to keep your body challenged, and your muscles growing.

And by the way, this doesn't mean that you'll have to do a completely random exercise now and then; It only means that you have to add a new routine from time to time.

Your Muscle is Under-Recovering

Another reason why you're most probably you're not gaining muscle is because you aren't helping your muscles recover at all.

While exercising and doing physical activities are vital to building muscle, muscle recovery is also part of the journey so it should not be forgotten too.

Accordingly, recovery comes in different forms but the most important that you shouldn't disregard are nutrition and sleep. After exercising, make sure to eat properly and choose healthy foods and those that can provide your muscle with adequate nutrients that can help its recovery. Also, you need to get quality sleep to allow your body to repair the muscles and grow them.

You Do A Lot of Isolation & Machine Exercises Instead of Compound Lifts

Before we delve into this third reason, let's discuss what compound lifting  is first. They are multi joint exercises targeting more than one muscle group at a time. Among the most common examples of these exercises are deadlifts, presses, squats, and pull-ups. This type of exercise not only makes you stronger but it will also make your muscle fibers more engaged.

Isolation and machine exercises, on the other hand, focus on single areas only of your body. So, if you want to utilize your time and gain muscle, then compound lifting is the ideal option.
